According to AD, PEC Zwolle are hoping to appoint Jaap Stam as their new head coach

The Eredivisie strugglers sacked John van ‘t Schip last week after a terrible start to their season, which has seen the club which has European ambitions sit 16th heading into the winter break.

Algameen Dagblad is reporting that negotiations are taking place between PEC Zwolle, Stam and his management over a deal which will see the former Oranje international take charge heading into the new year.

Stam has been out of work since being sacked by Reading FC in March after a difficult second campaign in charge of the Championship side.

He has since been keen to get back into management and may see PEC Zwolle as the perfect chance to prove himself.
