PEC Zwolle have parted ways with head coach John van ‘t Schip after their 5-0 cup defeat to AZ Alkmaar on Tuesday.

Van ‘t Schip made a great start to his tenure with PEC Zwolle at the start of last season but after the winter break it all went wrong and the club missed out on a European playoff spot.

This season, Van ‘t Schip has been unable to turn things around despite plenty of new players being brought in. He leaves the club sitting 15th in the Eredivisie and out of the KNVB Cup.

Assistant coach Gert Peter de Gunst will take charge of the clash against Roda JC this weekend.
