After holding Feyenoord to a 0-0 draw last weekend, PEC Zwolle headed to Breda looking for a win which would move them temporarily up to second.
The visitors had the better of the first half but had to wait until the 45th minute to take the lead. An error in defence by Menno Koch led to the defender pushing Younes Mokhtar to the ground to gift PEC Zwolle a penalty. Bram van Polen made no mistake from the spot to put PEC ahead.
NAC thought they had equalised a minute into the second half but Angelino’s goal was ruled out for offside. Koch nearly made up for his earlier error but his header on the hour mark flew over the bar.
In the 76th minute, Mustafa Saymak saw a strike come back off the post before Rick Dekker was off target with the rebound. However, four minutes later, Mokhtar set up Saymak to net from close range and seal the victory for PEC Zwolle.
PEC Zwolle rise to second ahead of Feyenoord’s clash with Ajax tomorrow, while NAC sit 15th.
