Finnish defender Thomas Lam has returned to PEC Zwolle on a two-year deal with the option of a third.

The 24-year-old left PEC Zwolle for Nottingham Forest two years ago on a free transfer, but didn’t nail down a place at the Championship side and was loaned to FC Twente last season.

Lam has now returned to PEC Zwolle, signing a two-year deal with the option of a third. He told the club’s website, “The club, the stadium and the people feel familiar. I am also convinced that we are going to have a great season with this selection. For me personally, it is important to be on the training ground and as soon as possible to play football. I am really looking forward to this and can not wait to represent this beautiful club again.”

Lam made 70 appearances for PEC Zwolle during his first spell with the club, scoring eight goals.
