Jaap Stam will be presented as the new head coach of PEC Zwolle on Friday.

The former centre-back worked at PEC Zwolle as a coach, assistant coach and manager of the reserves before he moved to Ajax and then Reading FC. His job as head coach of the English Championship side ended in March after a poor run of results.

According to Voetbal International, Stam will now take charge of PEC Zwolle as the successor of John van ‘t Schip who was sacked earlier this month.

The 46-year-old takes over a club sitting 16th in the Eredivisie and is set to appoint Said Bakkati as his assistant.
