van basten bKoeman is out of contract in the summer, and will leave his position as Feyenoord coach, with a number of names already put forward to replace him.

Marco van Basten is also out of contract with Heerenveen, and he has been linked with the Rotterdam club, along with Peter Bosz, Co Adriaanse, and current assistant coach Jean-Paul van Gastel.

Feyenoord captain Graziano Pelle has spoken to Voetbal International of his wish to see Van Basten as his next coach, while he also feels Van Gastel deserves a chance.

Pelle said, “I have an awful lot of respect for Van Basten. I thought he was a great football player, so it would be fun to get someone I greatly admired as a child. And it may be because he is free.”

“For me, it does not have to be difficult. If it is not Van Basten, then slide Jean-Paul van Gastel in. He knows the club and the players. ”

“Too little experience? You need to have opportunities in life. Everyone gets a chance here, so why not Van Gastel?”
