Gaston Pereiro has confirmed he would rather remain in Europe than join FC Cincinnati and has revealed his agent is talking with Aston Villa.

The Uruguayan midfielder is out of contract in the summer and PSV are hoping to sell him this month.
FC Cincinnati have had an offer accepted by PSV and are currently in talks with Pereiro’s agent. However, speaking to Sport890 radio, Pereiro has confirmed that he would rather remain in Europe.
He also confirmed that his agent is in discussions with Aston Villa, although it’s uncertain whether that would be a January deal or a free in the summer.
Pereiro said, “PSV told me that negotiations with Cincinnati have been completed. But I have indicated to my agent that I would prefer to stay in Europe if the opportunity presents itself.
“He is now working on an offer that Aston Villa has made.”
