Ajax went into Sunday knowing a Feyenoord win over Excelsior would end any hope of them lifting the title. However, Excelsior came out on top in Rotterdam meaning Ajax head into the final weekend only one point behind Feyenoord.

Bosz said, ”We have done today what we needed to do today and that was to win. I do not expect Feyenoord to lose today. But you know that these results can happen such as Ajax against De Graafschap on the last day of last season.

”One thing is for sure is that we want to be champions. We have to, therefore, need to win against Willem II in Tilburg. We are also dependent on what Heracles Almelo do. But it is understandable that Feyenoord become restless.

”Heracles Almelo also have something to play for they can still reach the European play-offs in the Eredivisie so they will want to get a positive result.

”If everything in football would be so predictable then football would not be so enjoyable. So that results like Feyenoord that happened today can be only a good thing ”
