NEC Nijmegen have lost 10 of their 11 last games and have slipped into the relegation play-off places with only four games remaining.

Hyballa said,”I told the players before the game that we had to mark the Ajax players well. It’s disappointed to be 2-0 after 8 minutes.

”I could also understand that frustration of the players becoming over run. The truth is that we have had no chance in the 2 matches we have played against Ajax this season.

”We have to continue to work and train hard. We have 28 points as have the teams around us. We now go to Enschede to face FC Twente. I still believe that we will stay up.”

17-year-old Ferdi Kadioglu once again came off the bench to score a wonder-goal. Hyballa stated on why the youngster didn’t start, ”It was a fantastic goal by Ferdi Kadioglu. I decided not to start him today due to tactical reasons against Ajax.”
