PSV sit top of the Eredivisie with a five point gap to second placed Ajax. However, a trip to Arnhem to face Vitesse on Sunday will be a difficult task for the league leaders.

Cocu said, ”The season is still in it’s early stages but we are pleased to be top of the Eredivisie with a 5 point lead but if we were to drop points then things can change very quickly. The gaps of quality between us and our competitors is not so big in my opinion.

”We have played well so far this season and have scored many goals and that shows how well we are performing as a team.

”We have also reached the last 16 of the KNVB Cup where we play against VVV Venlo at home but we must continue to stay sharp and focused. When we play well we can beat anybody but when we do not play well we can also be vulnerable.”
