The 17-year-old has become a regular in the Heerenveen first-team this season and has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, who all scouted him recently.

Speaking to Leeuwarder Courant, Pierie said on the interest, “It is of course a compliment that such clubs follow you, but I am now a footballer of Heerenveen.”

On whether he would remain at Heerenveen past the summer, Pierie responded,  “I do not know,

“I still have a two-year contract and am very satisfied with this club, so hopefully Heerenveen will be with me as well. I want to get to the playoffs first, but what comes my way will be seen in the transfer window.”
