toiv aThe Swedish international’s contract is up in the summer, and although he will agree to a new one-year-deal if no transfer happens in January, it is likely Toivonen will leave PSV this month.

Reports earlier in the day suggested PSV will look to make over €2 million for the player, a drop from the €5 million fee they agreed with Norwich City in the summer, before Toivonen rejected the deal.

Newcastle United, Liverpool, Besiktas, and AC Milan have all been linked with the 27-year-old, and PSV director Marcel Brands confirmed the interest on Friday.

Brands is quoted in De Gerlander saying, “There is a lot of clubs interested in Ola from countries such as Russia, Turkey, England and Spain. But it is not yet concrete, so it’s wait and see if it comes to a deal.”

Toivonen has been with PSV since 2009, and has made 136 league appearances for the club, scoring 60 goals. However so far this season, the midfielder has found himself on the fringes of Phillip Cocu’s side, only starting seven league games.
