Have you changed your mind re Stengs considering the way he dismantled an albeit hapless Feyenoord.
Stengs is the real deal.
He is the type of player and in the type of form that if Nth Ireland frustrate and stifle in Belfast, he could be the difference – the difference between the quality he has and the like Promes, Bergwijn and Babel. Too much is put on Depay.
This idea that it will ruin the team spirit that has been built is nonsense. If it is that fragile then its on shaky foundations.
I’ve seen it too many times before where a player is held back with negative consequences.
The players that are contributing the most will welcome him and what he brings to their own play.
To think that Stengs can simply transition from a wide forward to a more central midfielder so effectively speaks volumes.
