Clarence Seedorf’s debut as Cameroon national team boss didn’t get off to a good start as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Comoros.

Cameroon are taking part in the qualifying stage for the 2019 African Cup of Nations despite having already qualified as hosts.

On Saturday, Clarence Seedorf made his debut as the countries head coach, with Patrick Kluivert his assistant. They watched on as Cameroon went into the break 1-0 down. Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana was surprised by Red Star Belgrade forward El Fardou Ben.

In the second half, Cameroon improved and they eventually netted the equaliser ten minutes from time through Stéphane Bahoken. Seedorf’s side couldn’t find a winner before the end, though.

Not the start that the Dutch duo would have wanted but they host Malawi in October as Seedorf and Kluivert search for their first victory.
