Quincy Promes has denied his involvement in a stabbing last July through his lawyer, while Ajax has also commented on the situation.

A spokesperson for Ajax said to De Telegraaf, “It is an annoying matter. But being accused of something doesn’t mean you did it. It is therefore too premature to say anything about it from Ajax.”
Promes lawyer Manon Aalmoes also said in a written statement, “Promes was not on site at the time of the incident. Promes is fully cooperating with the investigation.”
Promes is currently in police custody and will remain inside until at least Monday.
