The 25-year-old was missing from PSV’s squad to face Augsburg on Sunday with rumours that Propper had been spotted with his agent at Schiphol airport.
It now appears that the midfielder will be joining Brighton and Hove Albion, who have agreed a deal with PSV Eindhoven. The Daily Mail are reporting that the fee could be £3.5 million, which seems low for a player contracted to PSV until 2020. However, PSV are in desperate need for money after their shock Europa League exit.
Propper joined PSV from Vitesse Arnhem in 2015 and has made 89 appearances for the club, scoring 22 goals and adding 20 assists. He has five caps for Netherlands.
Update: According to Eindhoven Dagblad the fee for Propper will be closer to €15 million. The midfielder has agreed personal terms with Brighton.
a stupid move for propper and the fee is too low for psv propper deserves a better club than a regelation fight team in the pl
I’m guessing someone at the Daily Mail forgot to type a 1 in front of the 3 for the price in pounds.
Anyway, I get the reason for the sale. Thinking from a national team perspective, this is yet another player leaving the Eredivisie for a club abroad that isn’t exactly what anyone would call good. He’s yet to impress with Oranje, but this move won’t help him much in that aspect I don’t think.
