Having built up a solid reputation at Vitesse, where he made over 100 appearances as a combative midfielder who possesses finesse on the ball and an eye for a killer pass he naturally attracted the attention of one of the big 3 Dutch clubs. Propper has since his move to PSV developed into currently the most complete midfielder in the Dutch league at the moment and he is still only 24. His journey to the Dutch national team was complete when he won his first senior cap for the Netherlands as a substitute replacing Robin van Persie in a 4-3 defeat against the United States in a friendly in June 2015. He is bound to play a more pivotal role in the upcoming world cup qualifiers.

Davy Propper spoke during his press conference to confirm his contract extension. ”It’s fantastic to have had such a great year with PSV Eindhoven winning the league and Johan Cruyff shield twice that is why I want to continue here. I am really enjoying my time here at PSV Eindhoven and I feel that there is more to come.”

Propper also admitted to having to think carefully when approached by foreign clubs regarding a transfer this summer, “For example I had to think about the interest shown from Zenit St Petersburg but I want to stay at PSV and I feel that I can only get better.”
