PSV began the game well, and Vitesse keeper Piet Velthuizen had to make smart saves to deny Adam Maher and Jurgen Locadia.
On 38 minutes Vitesse took the lead, as a throw in cut through the PSV defence allowing Lucas Piazon to fire past Jeroen Zoet.
In first half stoppage time PSV equalised as Memphis Depay fired a low shot into the bottom corner from just outside the box.
With 25 minutes to go Mike Havenaar got ahead of Karim Rekik at the front post to convert a cross and put Vitesse 2-1 ahead.
Ten minutes later it was 3-1 with a long ball carving open the PSV defence, and Kelvin Leerdam slotted easily past Zoet with no defenders near.
PSV gave themselves hope with seven minutes to go as Rekik headed in at the back post to make it 3-2, but then Vitesse ran rampant in the final five minutes.
Firstly another long ball opened the PSV defence giving Davy Propper time to slot past the onrushing Zoet.Patrick van Aanholt then played a one two with Piazon before firing into the corner.
Then in the third minute of injury time Propper beat the offside trap to net his second goal of the game and compound the misery on a poor PSV side.
Vitesse remain at the top of the table, and look like a side brimming with confidence, while PSV coach Philip Cocu will be tearing his hair out at some shocking defending by his side, who sit 10th.
