lombaertsLombaerts has two-years left on his contract in Russia, but has indicated to the club that he is looking to leave in order to move closer to home with his pregnant wife.

With PSV Eindhoven losing Jeffrey Bruma to Wolfsburg they are on the lookout for a new centre-back and see Lombaerts as a possible signing. They, along with Ajax have contacted Zenit St Petersburg according to van Stee, but neither have made an official bid yet.

Despite Lombaerts wanting to leave, van Stee has told VI that they will not be forced into selling on the cheap, “He still has a two-year contract and is a fantastic player. Only if a club shows concrete interest, and comes with a serious offer, we’ll talk.”

The 32-year-old has been with Zenit since 2007 having joined from Genk. Lombaerts has 32 caps for the Belgian national team.
