As soon as Georginio Wijnaldum signed for Newcastle United, PSV set the wheels in motion to capture his replacement in Davy Propper, and they have now announced the 23-year-old’s signing for a fee believed to be €4.5 million.
Propper put pen to paper on his four-year-deal in Eindhoven, and will now join up with the rest of the PSV squad at their training camp in France.
Speaking to the official PSV website, Propper said, “This is a great challenge and a step up for me.”
Because I’ve had for a long vacation, I really want to get back on the field. I’m really looking forward to playing in the UEFA Champions League, but it certainly was not the deciding factor in my choice for PSV. This is just a great club. ”
Propper played 134 league matches for Vitesse since making his debut in 2010, and this summer he earned his first Netherlands cap, in the 4-3 defeat to USA.
