Bakkali is one of Europe’s most exciting young talents after breaking into the PSV earlier in the season, and has been linked with Real Madrid, and Liverpool recently.
The winger’s contract with PSV currently ends in a years time, and despite the club expecting Bakkali to sign a new deal on his 18th birthday in January, nothing has yet been agreed.
PSV boss Phillip Cocu has played down the fears that the club could lose the youngster in the Summer, and is confident a new deal will be agreed.
Cocu told De Telegraaf, “I am one hundred percent sure that it will work out. This impression he has given me.”
“Much goes through the head of such a young player, and that’s why sometimes some additional explanation is important. I talked to him about what’s important when deciding about his future. “
