PSV Eindhoven ensured they ended 2017 with a victory as they came from behind to defeat Vitesse 2-1 in the Philips Stadion.

Vitesse went into the game having won only one of their last seven Eredivisie ties and amid rumours that Henk Fraser could depart the club in January. However, the visitors frustrated PSV from the start and took the lead on 32 minutes through Tim Matavz, who tapped in after being set up by Milot Rashica.

PSV equalised just before the break with Daniel Schwaab heading a Hirving Lozano free-kick past Remko Pasveer.

Eight minutes into the second half, PSV took the lead when Bart Ramselaar cleverly flicked the ball into the path of Lozano, who shot past Pasveer with the help of a deflection.

Vitesse thought they had equalised late on when Matavz found the net again but the strikers effort was ruled out for offside.

PSV end the year with a victory to ensure they will stay at least five points ahead of Ajax going into the winter break.
