PSV Eindhoven have completed the signing of Kostas Mitroglou on loan from Galatasaray until the end of the season.

Mitroglou is contracted to Olympique Marseille, but was loaned to Galatasaray for 18 months in January. The Greek international did not make an impact in Turkey and Galatasaray have agreed to let Mitroglou join PSV for a fee of €1.25 million.

The 31-year-old told the PSV website, “My career is an adventure and this choice for PSV is a great step.

“I’m looking forward to playing for the prizes in the Netherlands and helping the team qualify for the Europa League.”

PSV were looking to add a new striker to the squad after the injury to Sam Lammers, while Joel Piroe has been allowed to leave for Sparta Rotterdam on loan. Mark van Bommel’s options have now been bolstered by the arrival of Mitroglou, who can immediately make his debut in the Europa League clash on Thursday against Apollon Limassol.
