PSV were keen to add a defender to their selection in January and were linked with several full-backs including Patrick van Aanholt, Jairo Riedewald and Angeliño.

The 21-year-old Spaniard has been a revelation since joining NAC in the summer on loan from Manchester City, and PSV made an attempt to sign him last month. However, Marcel Brands confirmed to De Tafel van Kees that they couldn’t afford to match the Premier League sides asking price.

He said,  “That’s an interesting player, yes.

“Those players are no longer feasible for PSV. They (Manchester City) expect that player to generate between ten and fifteen million euros.”
