After a day of celebrations to mark the clubs centenary, the match got underway with PSV looking to get back on track after dropping points against Heracles last week.
However their Champions League defeat to AC Milan on Wednesday clearly took its toll on a few of the players, who were clearly tiring throughout the game.
In the first half, Adam Maher, and Jeffrey Bruma both had chances, but Cambuur defended brilliantly, and the Eindhoven side could find no way through.
The reintroduction of Zakaria Bakkali in the second half, also failed to break the deadlock for the home side, as Cambuur got men behind the ball, and made it difficult to create any chances.
In the final few minutes, substitute Ola Toivonen had the best opportunity to score, but somehow lifted the ball over the bar with an empty net gaping, for probably the miss of the season so far.
PSV fail to score in an official match for the fist time since August 2011, and Phillip Cocu’s side drop points once again, while credit must be given to Cambuur, who defended brilliantly, and spoiled the home side’s party.
