PSV then had a number of chances to bury the game with Stijn Schaars, Jurgen Locadia, and Depay all missing good chances to make it 2-0.

Heracles made the wasteful PSV pay for their missed chances as Bryan Linssen equalised on 42 minutes with an excellent curling strike into the top corner.

On 59 minutes a cross from Jetro Willems was headed in at the back post by Bryan Ruiz for the forwards first goal since joining on loan from Fulham.

PSV then had goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet to thank for holding onto their win, as the stopper made excellent saves from Mark Uth and Oussama Tannane in the last five minutes.

The win moves PSV ahead of Heerenveen, who play later this weekend, into fifth and they are making a late run for a top four spot. Heracles remain 11th.
