PSV Eindhoven put in one of their best performances this season to see of 2nd place FC Twente 3-2 at the Philips Stadion.

locSantiago Arias got the home side off to the perfect start after only seven minutes as the right back got on the end of a nice team move before firing left footed into the bottom corner.

On 23 minutes it was 2-0 as Memphis Depay’s excellent cross was headed past Nick Marsman by Jurgen Locadia for the strikers seventh goal of the season.

Dusan Tadic saw an effort crash off the bar before Quincy Promes pulled a goal back before the break with a powerful effort which flew past Jeroen Zoet.

Seven minutes into the 2nd half PSV made it 3-1 with Jetro Willems cutting in from the left before curling a right footed effort past Marsman.

Twente gave themselves hope with 20 minutes left after Kyle Ebecilio hammered the ball in at the back post from a set piece that PSV failed to clear.

PSV rode their luck in the final minutes, but held on to claim a precious three points which makes it two wins in a row for the Eindhoven club. The win pushes Phillip Cocu’s side up to 5th, while Twente remain 2nd, but could fall seven points behind leaders Ajax, should they beat PEC Zwolle on Sunday.
