locadPSV began the game on top, and deservedly took the lead on 21 minutes when Georginio Wijnaldum ran onto a Memphis Depay through ball before slotting into the bottom corner.

Five minutes later it was 2-0 as Depay sent Santiago Arias free on the right, and after the Colombian broke into the box his cross was turned into his own net by defender Alexsander Damvevski.

The home side looked in total control, but NAC Breda were given a way back into the game just after the half hour when Arias brought down Erik Falkenburg in the box, and Adnane Tighadouini slotted in from the spot to make it 2-1. The goal gave NAC confidence, and Tighadouini was causing havoc down the left with the winger seeing two long range efforts well saved by Jeroen Zoet.

Striker Kinglsey Boeteng squandered a great chance to equalise just after the break, and minutes later Memphis Depay curled a free kick over the wall and into the net to make it 3-1.

Jurgen Locadia smashed into the top corner from the edge of the box to make it 4-1 on 53 minutes, before Wijnaldum finished off a flowing team move four minutes later for PSV’s fifth.

Depay netted his second free kick of the match to put the icing on the cake for PSV, and sent them straight to the top of the table after two wins from two. The winger is now the Eredivisie’s top scorer with four goals in two games.

PSV face Ajax next week, and it will be the Eindhoven side going into the match full of confidence after an outstanding performance. Phillip Cocu’s side head to the top of the table, and on this evidence they will be hard to beat in the race for the title.
