The NAC home fans created an excellent atmosphere as Eredivisie football finally returned to the Rat Verlegh Stadium, but it was PSV who took the early initiative and the lead on 17 minutes. Steven Bergwijn drilled the ball into the net after a corner eventually fell at the winger’s feet.
However, back came NAC Breda who drew in confidence as the half wore on and eventually they drew level from the spot after Derrick Luckassen was penalized for a tug on Thierry Ambrose. The on loan striker slammed his penalty into the top corner to make it 1-1.
PSV struggled to get a hold on the game after the break but restored their lead on the hour mark through Marco van Ginkel who rose to head in a corner. Nine minutes later Hirving Lozano put PSV two ahead with a lovely strike into the bottom corner after good work by Bergwijn.
The third goal killed the host’s spirit and just before the end Jorrit Hendrix, who had an excellent game, played a one-two with Luuk de Jong before lashing the ball into the net.
PSV now have two wins from two while NAC are still to register their first points of the campaign.
