The Russian transfer window is open until the end of February, and Eindhoven Dagblad are reporting that PSV would be willing to listen to offers for the Slovenian striker.
Rubin Kazan are targeting Matavz to replace Salomon Rondon, who they sold to Zenit recently for close to €18 million, but PSV have rejected their first offer, which is believed to have been a loan bid.
PSV are only interested in selling the striker on a permanent deal, and are waiting to hear from Rubin again this month. Matavz played tonight in Jong PSV’s 2-1 defeat to Sparta Rotterdam as he makes his way back from injury.
However with Jurgen Locadia, Bryan Ruiz, Alex Schalk and Memphis Depay all able to play through the middle, coach Phillip Cocu will not be able to guarantee Matavz first team football.
Matavz joined PSV in 2011 from Groningen, with the 25-year-old netting 24 goals in 63 Eredivisie matches.
