PSV Eindhoven made it nine league wins out of nine with a 6-0 victory over FC Emmen in the Philips Stadion.

Mark van Bommel had no fresh injury concerns after the international break and was able to name Daniel Schwaab in the starting eleven after he missed their last win against VVV Venlo.

Emmen were in the game until the 12th minute when Steven Bergwijn cut in before setting up Gaston Pereiro to slot the ball into the bottom corner with a fine finish. Luuk de Jong then headed in a Hirving Lozano cross in the 29th minute to make it 2-0.

A Lozano corner was met by De Jong’s head again in the 36th minute for the third before Pereiro added another before the break. Jorrit Hendrix was spared a red card by referee Bas Nijhuis after a strong challenge but van Bommel replaced the midfielder at half-time as a precaution.

In the second half, PSV remained in control and eventually substitute Erick Gutierrez fired in a fifth after a scramble in the box. Donyell Malen then set up Hirving Lozano to curl in a fifth late on to seal a comfortable victory.

PSV remain comfortably top of the Eredivisie and will now prepare to face Tottenham in the Champions League. Emmen are 14th.
