Jeroen Zoet has been heavily linked with a move away from the Philips Stadion since the summer, and PSV seem to be planning for life without their number one.
De Telegraaf are reporting that PSV have made contact for Pau Lopez, whose contract with Espanyol is expiring and talks have been unable to result in a renewal. The 22-year-old has made over 50 appearances for Espanyol, but spent last season on loan with Tottenham Hotspur, without making an appearance.
PSV are reportedly looking abroad for a new goalkeeper because Marcel Brands sees no suitable options in the Netherlands, while Hidde Jurjus and Yanick van Osch are not ready to be number one at the club.
Zoet’s contract with PSV expires in 2019. He was linked with Newcastle United and Benfica in the summer, but his €10 million asking price was too steep.
