The 16-year-old who had been dubbed the ‘new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ by Italian press, put pen to paper on his deal until 2017 in Eindhoven today, with PSV paying compensation to Roma for the signing.
Speaking to the official PSV site director Marcel Brands revealed that the deal was started when the club learned that the Italian wanted to move to Netherlands.
Brands said, “He sees the Netherlands as the best country for the development of a young player. In recent months we have been working on this and have viewed him a couple of times at Roma.
“It’s a big step at a young age. He is also a very big boy for his age, he is already moving towards the 1.95 meters. He is physically strong and very skilled already.”
Scamacca will begin as part of PSV’s under 17 squad.
