The 23-year-old has joined PSV as a replacement for Memphis Depay, who made his move to Manchester United last month, and should his one-year loan deal be successful, the Eindhoven club have the option to make it permanent.
Lestienne came through the academy of Belgian side Mouscron, but after they were bankrupt the winger decided to join Club Brugge in 2010, rejecting offers from Manchester City and PSV. In four seasons at Club Brugge, Lestienne scored 33 goals in 102 league games, before joining Al Arabi in the summer of 2014.
Without actually making an appearance for Al-Arabi, Lestienne joined Genoa on loan last season, and scored once in 23 Serie A appearances.
Lestienne will now join up with the PSV squad in France, but he will not be the last new arrival to Phillip Cocu’s squad with Uruguayan Gaston Pereiro expected this week, while there could still be moves for Vitesse’s Davy Propper and former captain Ibrahim Afellay.
