Mark van Bommel named an unchanged side for the trip to Tilburg where PSV lost 5-0 last season. A victory was a must to keep PSV’s title hopes alive.
The opening half-hour saw Pablo Rosario go closest for PSV with a header wide, while at the other end, Alexander Isak put a chance just off-target.
In the 31st minute, PSV broke the deadlock with Donyell Malen cleverly racing past Vurnon Anita before slotting the ball into the net.
Six minutes later, PSV were awarded a free-kick for a foul on Hirving Lozano. Michal Sadilek curled the ball towards Luuk de Jong, who didn’t get a touch to the surprise of Willem II goalkeeper Michael Woud and the ball nestled into the net.
In the 65th minute, Steven Bergwijn settled the game with a close-range finish after being set up by Malen.
Gaston Pereiro hit the post in injury time, while Lozano was forced off with a knee issue.
The win keeps PSV locked on the same number of points as Ajax with two games left. Willem II are 8th.
