psv o19After only 18 minutes PSV had the lead when Sam Lammer’s through ball sent Ramon Pascal Lundqvist through on goal and the attacker finished calmly. However CSKA Moscow equalised seven minutes later when a free kick was headed past Yanick van Osch by Zhamaletdinov.

On 33 minutes Gudmundsson restored PSV’s lead from close range, and the Dutch side nearly added another before half time, but Verrath struck the crossbar.

CSKA Moscow were reduced to ten men early in the second half after Maklakov saw red for hitting, but PSV couldn’t add any further goals.

The win means PSV top the group and go through to the last 16 as a top seed.
