Maximiliano Romero will be returning to PSV Eindhoven this summer with Velez Sarsfield unable to afford his loan fee again.

The striker joined PSV from Velez Sarsfield for €10 million back in 2018, but only made two appearances, partly due to injuries.

Last summer, Romero was loaned back to the Argentinian club, and showed some form with seven goals in 22 league games.

Velez Sarsfield were hoping to loan Romero again for next season, but according to Tyc Sports, they can not afford to pay PSV the €1 million loan fee.

Recently speaking to TNT Sports, Velez Sarsfield director Sergio Rapisarda said, “For the love of Vélez, Maxi came to our club for free for a year and was willing to earn less than half of his salary. I keep hoping, but PSV now wants him back.”
