A tough challenge by Moreno on Luke Shaw in the Champions League last week left the Manchester United left back with a double leg fracture, and four days later another tackle by the Mexican ruled out Heracles attacker Oussama Tannane for a few weeks.
This has led to widespread criticism of the defender from around Europe, but speaking to the Metro, Moreno has defended himself and insists he is a good guy.
Moreno said on Shaw, “That was very unfortunate,”
“I was just in shock. But fortunately I spoke with him after with Phillip Cocu in the hospital. He was very kind and took no blame on me. That made me smile. According to him, this is football. ”
On Tannane he added, “Tannane indeed reacted differently. Too bad, but I did not even touch him.”
“By his reaction, everything is now enlarged and i was criticized. Also because the two incidents followed one another in quick time. That’s not fun, but I’m not afraid of it. Anyone who knows me, knows that I would never intentionally injure someone. I’m a nice guy, once they were saying i was too soft for a defender. “
