Utrecht came from behind at the break to down Heracles Almelo 3-1 thanks to a double from Bart Ramselaar.

Utrecht started brightly in Almelo with Simon Gustafson firing just wide before Jean-Christophe Bahebeck struck the post.

As the first half wore on though, Heracles came into the game and Maarten Paes had to make a good save to deny Cyriel Dessers. The former Utrecht striker also saw an effort cleared from the line.

In the 40th minute, the hosts did take the lead through Orestis Kiomourtzoglou, who steamed into the box, played a one-two with Mauro Junior and finished past Paes.

In the 52nd minute, Bart Ramselaar equalised for Utrecht after turning away from his marker in the box.

Mauro Junior then struck the post for the hosts before Gyrano Kerk fired Utrecht in front after 70 minutes. He took a Mark van der Maarel pass in the box, turned and slammed the ball into the net.

Heracles pushed for an equaliser but it did not come and in stoppage time, Ramselaar wrapped up the victory on the counter.

Utrecht now sits fifth while Heracles are 9th.
