Bart Ramselaar showed he still has plenty to offer Mark van Bommel with a starring role in Jong PSV’s 4-4 draw at NEC Nijmegen.

The 22-year-old has only made two short first team appearances since Mark van Bommel took over in the summer and with Erik Gutierrez arriving, Ramselaar’s playing time chances are looking slim.

The three-time’s Netherlands international was dropped into the Jong PSV squad for Friday’s clash at NEC in order to gain some match fitness.

NEC took a 2-0 lead but PSV fought back to level the score before the break. Ramselaar then took over in the second half, scoring twice to give PSV a 4-2 lead. The midfielder’s second was particularly special as he picked up the ball from distance before arrowing an excellent strike into the top corner.

Ramselaar was substituted late on and NEC came back to snatch a draw in the final seconds. However, Ramselaar will be pleased with his night’s work and will be hoping his performance has convinced van Bommel to restore him to his first team plans.
