Rangers FC have confirmed the appointment of Giovanni van Bronckhorst as their new head coach.

Rangers lost their head coach Steven Gerrard, who decided to take the vacant position at Aston Villa. That led them to Van Bronckhorst, who played for the club between 1998 and 2001.

Van Bronckhorst has been confirmed as Rangers head coach and he leads the team as they look to win the Scottish League title, while they remain in the Europa League.

The 46-year-old was most recently in charge of the Chinese side Guangzhou R&F but he left them last December after a short spell. Before that, he coached Feyenoord and led them to the league title.

The 106-time Netherlands international takes Roy Makaay along with him to Rangers.
