gravenberchThe 22-year-old had a trial period with the club at the end of last season, and impressed Reading’s bosses enough for them to sign Gravenberch permanently on a three-year-deal.

Gravenberch started his career in the youth ranks at Ajax but left the Amsterdam club for Romanian side Universitatea Cluj in 2014. The centre-back only spent one year in Romania before returning to the Netherlands with Dordrecht. Gravenberch made 28 league appearances in the Eerste Divisie last season for Dordrecht, but now leaves for England.

Reading manager Brian McDermott told the official Reading website, “I’m really pleased to have Danzell on board. He was first brought to our attention by Brian Tevreden, our new Technical Director, who spoke highly of him having worked with him previously.

“We brought Danzell in for a few days last month, he trained and played with us – and he is a player capable of playing in various positions, with an awful lot of potential. I’m delighted to have secured his services so early in the summer.”
