Real Betis have confirmed the signing of Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart on a three-year-deal.

The 32-year-old’s contract with Hamburg expired at the end of the season and despite being linked with a return to Ajax, Van der Vaart has decided to return to Spain where he starred for Real Madrid between 2008 and 2010.
Speaking to Real Betis TV Van der Vaart said on the move, “I am very happy to come here. It’s a great club and I really want to start. For me it is a dream because my family lives in Chiclana, very close, and I like playing football in Spain. ”
“I want to win and score goals, besides giving assists. This stadium is always full and that’s why I really want to win many games. ”
Real Betis will present Van der Vaart to the media on Tuesday.
