According to De Telegraaf, Real Madrid and Manchester United are amongst the list of clubs looking to sign Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

Real Madrid reportedly see the 21-year-old as a successor to Luka Modric and want to beat rivals Barcelona to his signature. De Telegraaf reports that they have an €80 million bid ready, but add that this may not be enough to prise the midfielder from Amsterdam.

They add that Manchester United have also let their interest known to the player’s agent and are ready to enter the battle along with Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, Tottenham and PSG.

When asked about the interest, De Jong’s agent Ali Dursun, responded, “I can neither confirm nor deny this. You have to ask Marc Overmars because I send all the clubs that report to me to him.”
