According to Spanish newspaper ‘Marca’, Real Madrid are planning a bid for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek should they fail to bring in Paul Pogba.

Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is Real Madrid’s top priority as they seek a new midfielder but a move for the Frenchman is costly.

Marca believe that if Real Madrid fail in their move for Pogba then their plan B is Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek. A move for the Dutch international would cost €60 million, which is €100 million less than Pogba.

Van de Beek is not openly seeking a move from Ajax this summer but he has an agreement with the directors that he can go if he receives a big offer from a major club.

Algemeen Dagblad reported on Monday that a top European club was making moves for Van de Beek. It appears that may be Real Madrid.
