Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has announced that the club will make no big moves this summer, seemingly ruling out a bid for Donny van de Beek.

Real Madrid had already agreed a €50 million deal with Ajax for Van de Beek, but had been stalling on completing the move due to the coronavirus outbreak.

According to De Telegraaf, Perez told Spanish media yesterday that the club would be making no big purchases this summer, “”We are not going to make major purchases this summer.

“We cannot ask our players to turn in wages and then make large purchases. We will have to wait a little longer. When everything is back to normal, we will bring the best players in the world back to Madrid.”

Those comments seem to open the door for other clubs to make a move for Van de Beek. Manchester United, Everton and Newcastle United have also been linked with the Dutch international.
