The 17-year-old has broken into the Groningen line-up this season and has been impressing scouts with his dynamic performances.

Reis was born in the Netherlands but to two Slovakian parents. Speaking to RTV Noord, the youngster has stated he wants to represent Oranje, despite not yet representing Netherlands at any age level.

He said, “I’ve heard a few times that the Dutch national team has asked for me. It’s a complicated process, but that’s all going well, I want to become a Dutchman, I am a Dutchman.

“I want to play for the Netherlands if i can have that opportunity.”

Reis is still waiting to receive a Dutch passport before he can be called up.
