De Boer was confirmed as the new head coach of the Netherlands on Wednesday, signing a deal until after the 2022 World Cup.
Former Netherlands winger Johnny Rep is unsure whether the KNVB has made the right choice, especially after his failures with Inter Milan, Crystal Palace and Atlanta United.
He told Algemeen Dagblad, “I don’t know if this is a good choice, because in those years that he was a trainer at Ajax I didn’t really enjoy the ArenA. That was usually not something to peek at. And then those missteps at those other clubs.
“There are now many talents in the Dutch national team. There is something to be done about it, but then something has to be done with a good trainer.”
Mr Rep you have every right to wonder about the choosing of Frank de Boer. De Boer will succeed at screwing things up. Any hope of the Netherlands improving are out the window.
Good Luck Oranje. You’ll need it.
