Van Wolfswinkel lauded the two goals scored by teammate Lewis Baker as Vitesse Arnhem reached their first KNVB Cup final since 1990.

He said, ”It was not easy tonight Sparta Rotterdam made it difficult for us and I do not think that we played well. This is a game where as cliche as it sounds you just have to get over the line by scoring more than your opponent.

”The two goals from Lewis Baker were great and those goals ensured the win. It was great to celebrate the win with our supporters after the final whistle. They are special moments in football that you cherish.

”Vitesse Arnhem have never won the cup. We will continue to work hard and we are now really close. We have no preference with who we play in the final. We will go to De Kuip in Rotterdam with intentions to finish the job and win the cup for the first time”.
