Ben Rienstra netted twice as Willem II defeated NAC Breda 2-1 in the Brabant derby.

Both sides went into the game only four points above the drop zone and knew a victory would all but seal their place in the Eredivisie next season.

Willem II began strongly and took the lead in the fourth minute with Ben Rienstra punishing goalkeeper Nigel Bertrams, who failed to deal with a Jordy Croux cross.

In the 29th minute, NAC equalised through Arno Verschueren, who was left completely free to head in an Angelino free-kick. However, ten minutes later, a corner was headed across goal by Fran Sol and Rienstra swept Willem II back in front.

Verschueren missed an excellent chance to equalise in a less entertaining second half, while at the other end Sol failed to make it 3-1.

The victory lifts Willem II up to 13th, while NAC remain 15th.
